Fanouropita Cake | figsandfeta.comIn the Orthodox Church, August 27 is dedicated to Saint Phanurius. The Orthodox faithful pray to this Saint to help them recover lost things such as car keys or a child’s favorite toy. Some even pray to this saint to  help them find hope, faith or focus. As a thanks-offering the custom arose of baking a cake in his honor. This is my favorite recipe for a Fanouropita Cake, updated by making them into little bundt cakes and topping them with fresh local berries and organic crystallized ginger.
