Just 5 ingredients make this delicious and tasty topping for ice cream or Tsoureki Bread Pudding.

  1. 1 cup white sugar
  2. 1/4 cup water
  3. 1/2 cup heavy cream
  4. 1 tablespoon Metaxa (or Bourbon)
  5. pinch of salt
  1. In a small pot, simmer sugar and water on medium heat. Do not stir, but rather swirl the pot until a deep amber color is reached.
  2. Remove from heat and slowly add the cream, stirring.
  3. Add Metaxa and a pinch of salt.
  4. Place back on the burner for another minute while stirring.
  5. Transfer to a heat safe jar or bottle and allow to cool, or serve warm.
