I had a “Post-it Note” experience. You know the story of the invention of the 3M Post-it Note, right? How it was created by accident? These Gluten-Free Almond Brown Butter Scones were created by accident, but turned out to be quite the opposite of disappointing.
The filling in these hand pies is flavorful and tastes of fall. Fresh Fuyu persimmons are slowly simmered in Metaxa (Greek brandy) with freshly grated ginger, orange zest and cinnamon. YUM.
Usually when I make homemade ice cream I use whole milk, heavy cream and sugar as my base. Here I’ve substituted the whole milk with coconut cream and the sugar with honey. I love the depth of flavors this combination creates! Simmering fresh lavender with the coconut cream takes this ice cream to an entirely different level of richness and flavor.
Can you tell I’m passionate about my ice cream?
Rich and Chewy Baklava Bon Bons made with Cinnamon-Sugar Cookies and Decadent Baklava
I am a coffee lover as well as a lover of Nutella as well as a lover of cake. Therefore, Coffee-Nutella Swirl Pound Cake makes me very, very happy. I thought this was a perfect week to share this simple recipe, as here in Sacramento the local speciality coffee community is celebrating their dedication to quality, ethics and dedication in relations to all things coffee during Speciality Coffee Week.

A Flavorful Bread Pudding Made with Greek Sweet Bread and Topped with Metaxa Caramel Sauce
This year, I finally got around to simplifying Tsoureki and made about 6 loaves. I was then gifted another 2 loaves. With the over abundance of Tsoureki in my kitchen this year it became clear to me it was the perfect year to create Tsoureki Bread Pudding and topped it with Metaxa Caramel Sauce. Please trust me when I say this: You will lick your plate clean!
It may sound quite strange to add olive oil and flaky sea salt to frozen yogurt, however, please, please, please trust me on this. The flavor party happening in your mouth is seriously like Mardi Gras, Fourth of July, Greek Independence Day And New Year’s Eve at midnight all at once. (If you think this is a weird combination, try putting peanut butter on your Sloppy Joe sandwich. I’ve done it. It’s delicious. I know… I need help…)
